Peke atu ki ngā rauemi
Description

Two boys pose with their bicycles on the second Ashhurst bridge, built in 1909. The original bridge was lost due to flooding in 1895, but was not replaced until 1909. In the interim, a ferry was used to take passengers and transport across the Manawatu River.
