The store was located on the corner of Featherson and Heretaunga Streets. Maury McHugh was an active member of the motorcycle speedway community. He raced nationally and abroad during the 1940s and 1950s, and worked as a speedway official at the Palmerston North Showgrounds during the 1960s.
