Pupils pose outside the Stoney Creek School, built 1881 at 'Bullocky Bend', further up Napier Road towards Ashhurst than the present day school. The building and school site was shifted to the corner of Stoney Creek and Napier Roads, because of dampness, in 1902. It is now called Whakarongo School.
