This photograph shows stage one of the construction of Awatapu College in Botanical Road, Palmerston North, comprising an arts and crafts block, and an 11 room teaching block. Work began in June 1974 and the College was opened in February 1976. The co-educational school occupies an area of 19 acres between Wikiriwhi Crescent and Dittmer Drive. It was the City's fifth State High School to be built. Photograph published in the Manawatu Evening Standard 13 May 1975.
