"The sixth unofficial British Commonwealth Relations Conference was officially opened by the Governor-General (Lord Cobham) at the Opera House today. The photograph shows part of the official party. They are (from left to right): Professor C.E. Carrington (partly obscured), Sir John Slessor, the Prime Minister (Mr Nash), the chairman of the conference (Dr J.C. Beaglehole), the Mayor (Mr W.B.
