Description

This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 24 September, 1959. "Members of the Headquarters of the Army Territorial Force Unit C.R.A.S.C. at Linton Camp, mainly drawn from the Palmerston North area, are pictured packing in tea chests part of the two-day supply in rations which will be lowered by parachutes to the Second Battalion of the New Zealand Regiment in high country near Levin on October 4. Watching the packaging and weighing operations for the approaching spectacular air drop in the Commanding Officer of the Territorial Unit, Lieutenant C. French (right), while from the left are Sergeant T. Rideout, Private K. Henderson, Sergeant R. Allen and Corporal S. Weavers, all of Palmerston North."
