This image was taken (but not used) for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 11th January 1966 "The last trappings of the Christmas season departed from the city yesterday when Father Christmas and the Nativity scene were removed from the Square. The three-ton Nativity scene was towed from its place in the Square to a new resting place in the Carter Merchants lot. [The Nativity can be seen being boarded up before transport.]"
