Annie Milson

Annie Milson was the wife of Robert Milson, a farmer in Palmerston North in Milson Line (which is named after him). She died 25 August 1917, aged 75.

Robert Milson

Robert Milson farmed on Milson Line (which is named after him) from about 1872 until his death on 3 April 1909, aged 74. His only child Annie married Joseph Linklater, a well known farmer who was a Member of Parliament for Manawatu from 1922 to 1935.

Christian Petersen and Family

Petersen was a carrier and transported most of the timber for the early Scandinavian settlements around Manawatu. This photograph was taken by Charles Mariboe, a travelling photograph from the late 19th century.

Three Palmerston North army cadets

Charles Adams, Daniel Sexton and John Carson were Rifle Volunteers cadets. Their uniforms were navy blue with white braid. This occasion was said to be on a visit to Christchurch, possibly to drill at the Christchurch Exhibition.

Kristine Koehler (nee Berthlesen)

Kristine was born in Denmark on 11 July 1864. She emigrated to New Zealand aged eighteen and married George Woldemar Koehler in Palmerston North on the 5 May 1887. She is pictured here wearing a handmade dress.
