Alex Dalzell

Alex was a flax worker of Waikanae, Shannon and Tokomaru prior to world war one. He was a brother of Bill and Tom Dalzell, well known "flaxies" and millers of the Manawatu. Alex died of influenza in England, 1919.

Captain H. Palmer

Captain H. Palmers was with the Manawatu Mounted Rifles (he was mentioned in their book as a Sergeant in 1906). He acted at the secretary for the group and was by all accounts an extremely energetic member.
