Letter from Arthur Hopwood regarding his offer to the PNCC of a Clock Tower in the Square
- Description
In 1953 Arthur Hopwood, of Arthur Hopwood Hardware, gifted the city of Palmerston North £10,000 to build a new tower in The Square, to hold the clock and chimes formerly in the Post Office. He wrote and thanked the Palmerston North City Council for accepting his offer. The Clock Tower was completed in 1957.
