Robert Edwards (c1857-1933), Palmerston North Borough Councillor for 3 terms and Mayor 1892-1893, was an architect and engineer. He was very active in the community and, amongst other interests, was a member of the Palmerston North Operatic and Dramatic Society. Here he and his wife, Alice Kerr, (seated) are in the cast of an unknown production. Alice died in 1906 and Edwards married Nancy Evelyn Hudson in 1913. Several of the daughters of Robert and Nancy were also active in the Palmerston North Operatic Society.
