"And One and Two and Three and Stretch" Training for Dance Teachers
- Description
This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 09 December 1958: ""Life is too easy in New Zealand. Your ballerinas do not stretch," said the Royal Academy of Dancing examiner (Miss P. Whiteley) yesterday when conducting a class for dancing teachers following the grade examinations which were held in the city last week. The class was held to "iron out the wrinkles noticed in examinations," said Miss Whiteley. "These wrinkles do creep in; we cannot help it." In the photograph are Miss Marie Penn, Miss Jennifer Gooding and Miss Whiteley discussing a movement."
