Description

Local historians weekly "Back Issues" article in the Manawatū Standard. The Savage Crescent housing precinct was built between 1938 and 1945, the first state housing project in a provincial area. It showcased the First Labour Government's commitment to ensuring every New Zealander had decent accommodation.
