Description

Construction of Te Ohu Rangahau Kai Food Pilot Plant, the new section of New Zealand’s largest agri-food innovation centre, started in early 2018 and was completed in 2020.

This food science research facility, adjacent to Massey University’s Food Pilot, is a key component of FoodHQ and supports the future of the country’s exports.

Apart from about 140 staff and students of Massey University, AgResearch and the Riddet Institute, the new building hosts laboratories and meat and dairy pilot plants.

Food pilots are small factories enabling developers to create and test new products.
