This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 24 November, 1959. “The lighting on the second half of the Palmerston North Airport runway will be completed soon and the full runway will be ready for day and night landings. Those in the photograph installing the lights are (from left): Messrs E. Te Rangi (Palmerston North, D. Sutton (Ministry of Works electrician from Auckland) and T. Ludeman (Feilding).”
