Description

This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 28 February, 1964. "An added attraction at the parade of modern fashion held at the Freyberg High School on Monday night in connection with the "galarama" was the parade of garments bringing memories of the past -- not so much in the past as there is seen many an inspiration for the present day styles. Gaye Morgan, blue dress, black cape and hand bag -- the two piece shirt belonged to the late Mrs. G. Mildron, the black dolman or cape was lent by Mr. Paul, of Feilding, and the bonnet by Mrs. Adsett, of Feilding, and made by hand by the late Mrs. J. Cobbe in about 1884.""
