Tina White wrote an article about Granny McDonald, horse trainer of Awapuni, for the 'Manawatū Standard', to coincide with the book launch of Jacqueline Dinan's book, 'Racing the Boys'. 'Racing the Boys' was a fictionalised account of Granny's life. The book launch was held at the Palmerston North City Library as part of Local History Week 2016.
