A shot of the dilapidated Raumai Store in Pohangina Valley. It closed in 1918, when occupied by Mr H I Christesen. He attributed its closure to the advent of the motor car. The store was thought to open in this building c. 1900, and previous store keepers were said to be Samuel and Alfred Palmer, Arthur Cunninghame, Parkes and Coy, Mr Symes, Hugh Sinclair, Alex Stevens, Gordon Bleakley, Mr Thornbur and Miss Brown.
