Josie Griffiths on a circa 1924-26 Blackburne engined Chater Lea motorcycle. Photo taken in the back garden at 19 Ngata Street, Palmerston North, circa 1929. This motorcycle was ridden by Fiery Faulkner who earned his nickname when he rode this bike over the finish line in first place at a race while it was heavily on fire. The bike was destroyed when the fire was unable to be put out afterwards.
