Description

Robert Embroiderers were established in Palmerston North in 1876. They were located in the building on the right-hand side. Harry Medway ran a printing business out of the left-hand building. Medway printers gained most of their work through word of mouth and Masonic Lodge connections. A daughter of Mr Medway recalls her father never having to advertise for business and her two sister printed their own wedding invitation using the business printing equipment. The building was destroyed by fire soon after this picture was taken. The site is now occupied by Stuarts Lawyers [2012].
