This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 17 February 1961: "Two of the top swimmers photographed during the Freyberg High School sports at the Municipal Baths yesterday. Vivienne Haddon (left) broke four school records during the day. New records are the 66 2-3 yards freestyle (45.9 sec.); 33 1-3 yards breaststroke (24.6 sec.); 33 1-3 yards backstroke (24.5 sec.); 33 1-3 yards freestyle (50.9 sec.) Miss Haddon competed in the New Zealand championships at Tauranga. R. Ireland (right) won the senior 100 yards freestyle swimming backstroke."
