This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 30 April 1958, page 5: "The cynosure of the large numbers who attended the Palmerston North Horticultural Society's chrysanthemum show, yesterday, was this outstanding exhibition of chrysanthemums arranged in the shape of a cross. The cross was formed by the garden circle of the Y.W.C.A., with the aid of Mr. D. Keen."
