These images were taken for the August 20th 1978 edition of the Tribune weekly newspaper – the first of which was published with the caption: “A fancy dress party for several hundred children may be fun – but it’s good to get away from the dancing for a while and sample the goodies that Mum and Dad have brought along for the occasion. This photograph was taken at Feilding’s North Street School’s recent fancy dress social. Sharing out the goodies to some of the colourfully-dressed children is teacher Mrs Moira Stewart. It was the first fancy dress social the school had held for some years, and was held in Feilding’s Civic Centre.”

These images form part of the Manawatū Evening Standard Negative Collection. Unfortunately, only negatives between April and December 1978 are held.
