This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 25 June, 1959. "One of hundreds who registered this morning for the New Zealand Ex-Prisoners of War Associaton's annual conference which opens today in Palmerston North. Mr C. C. Hunter, of Auckland, gives his particulars to Mr G. H. Kitto at the Returned Services Association rooms. Yesterday all accommodation in both Palmerston North and Feilding had been fully booked. Over 2000 members were expected to attend."
