"The Minister of Works (Mr Watt) is seen yesterday inspecting the rapid erosion at Tangimoana, caused by the swirling waters of the Rangitikei River. In front (second from right) of Rangitikei Catchment Board and Tangimoana Progressive Society officials, Mr Watt collects first-hand evidence to submit a proposal to a subsidy of 3000 pounds to the Soil Conservation Council to help alleviate the problem." Another photo associated with this article was published on the same day.
