Sherrill Cooper was born in 1946. She spent four years as a dancer with the NZ Ballet before becoming involved with the New Theatre and the Unity Theatre in Wellington in 1971. She spent eight months at the Four Seasons Theatre in Whanganui, fifteen months freelancing in Wellington and in later 1973, she toured with NZ Music Theatre Ensemble before coming to Palmerston North. She was with the Centrepoint for fifteen months.
