Description

This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 13th February 1963. "As part of barrack week at the Palmerston North Boys' High School, A Company were taken to the Army rifle range on No. 4 Line yesterday. For the first time the boys were instructed in the firing of live ammunition on the range with .303 rifles. Displaying little nervousness, the boys soon settled down and were firing with confidence. Some reasonably good scores were noted after the first detail had fired. All the boys agreed that it was a great thrill for them and all were trying hard to obtain good scores. The boys were under the command of Mr I. A. Colquhoun."
