"Yesterday's half-marathon through the streets of Palmerston North proved something of a family affair. New Plymouth's Barry McKerrow, a pre-race favourite, took out the men's title in 1hr 09m 57s, while his wife Barbara ran of with the women's honours in 1h 18m 03s."
Palmerton North's fourth annual 21.1km half-marathon began in Pascal street with 1160 finishing outside the Manawatu Sports stadium in overcast conditions.
