Description

Development began on the Victoria Esplanade in Palmerston North, named to mark Queen Victoria's 60th jubilee, in 1897.The concrete fence at the Fitzherbert Avenue end of the park was constructed c1920, utilising the linking chain from the old fence around The Square.
