This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 15 January, 1964. "These boys certainly believe in training for a competition--especially if it is fishing. A fishing competition in the lagoon for youngsters is one of the events organised for the Carnival of the Lake. Using garden worms for bait, these boys had reasonable success this morning during a trail run. They are (from the left) seen holding up their catches: Paul Fitzgerald, Tony McLachlan, and Brent Richardson."
