Description

This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 20 June 1961 "Two enthusiastic Guides of the Salvation Army Troop caught by a "Manawatu Standard" photographer last evening at their group gathering. Well might they be pleased with themselves. They have earned for themselves the distinction of being the first two local guiders to receive the bronze bar to the newly-instituted merit badge, the "Duty to God Emblem." They are (from the left), Ann Waite and Patricia Fordyce."
