Description

Mrs Mary Ann Matthews (nee Legg) and Alfred Matthews were two of the earliest settlers in the Mt. Stewart locality, arriving in the late 1880s. They came to New Zealand in 1856 on the sailing ship "Westminster". Mr and Mrs Matthews were the parents of John, Henry, Albert, Will, James, Fred and Emma Matthews.
