Description

This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 08 July 1961 "These two 9000-gallon stainless steel tanks constructed by a city engineering firm left Palmerston North on a long road haul to Opotiki, 80 miles beyond Gisborne. It is believed that they are the biggest stainless steel tanks to be shifted by road in New Zealand. They will be used by a dairy firm as coagulating vats for the making of casein."
