This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 28 July 1961 "Red lights are being fitted below the "Keep Left" signs at the Broadway and Princess Street roundabout. Mr. K. Wynks, foreman cable jointer with the City Council, is seen attaching the lights to a sign in Broadway to make them more conspicuous to motorists."
