The photographer has climbed onto the western tower of the Opiki suspension bridge and is looking across the Tane mill to the Makerua swamp. Some of the Tane mill buildings can be seen in the foreground. They are the stripper-slips shed, on the far right, scotching shed centre with white roof and the tow shed, rear with white roof.
