This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 18th February 1963. "A photograph of the directors of the Palmerston North Co-operative Building Society taken at their last meeting, held in the society's 65th year of existence. The directors recently adopted a more realistic scheme of loans, which now places the society on as liberal a basis as any in the world. The directors (left to right) are :- Messrs F. G. M. Parkinson, W. O. Young, J. B. Smillie, A. J. Beattie (chairman), G. M. Rennie, G. T. Rapley and B. K. Plimmer."
