Back Issues: Gasworks once valued but not mourned now
- Description
Local historians weekly "Back Issues" article in the Manawatū Standard. Hundred year history of the city's second gasworks, on Napier Road Terrace End. The gasworks was officially opened 21 December 1923 and went out of full operation in 1970, when Palmerston North was connected to a pipeline from the Kapuni gas field, Taranaki.
