The Palmerston North Golf Club is an 18 hole golf course. The Brightwater Terrace site, as in use today, was offered to the club in exchange for their links originally in Awatapu. In the early 1960s the Palmerston North City Council was looking to develop Awatapu for residential use and undertook to re-establish the course to the satisfaction of the Golf Club. The Club then shifted to this site in early 1964 and was officially opened 2 May 1964.
