First Occidental Hotel, corner of The Square and Fitzherbert Street

The first Occidental Hotel was built on the corner of Fitzherbert Street [Fitzherbert Avenue] and The Square in 1887. It burnt down in September of 1891 and was replaced by a very similar building which was also destroyed by a fire in 1927.
