This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 1 May, 1963. "Mr J. McDonald, of the New Zealand Forest Service, examines hoses which have been newly coupled and pressure tested. This task is only one of many being carried out at the Forest Service central fire depot in Tremaine Avenue. The depot, which was recently opened, will service the large Wellington conservancy."
