This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 07 July 1961 "To mark the 10th anniversary of the Colombo Plan the Mayor of Palmerston North (Mr. G.M. Rennie) held a reception for Asian students at Massey College in the Council Chambers last evening. Seen with the Mayor are four Indian students - (from the left), Messrs. K.K. Viswanathan, S.K. Mukeral, S. Bawak and R.J. Singh, and Mr. S.B. Rana (Nepal). At the far right is Mrs. R. Da Zyiva, formerly of Ceylon. At the rear are the Mayor, Mr. Rennie, Mrs. Rennie, and Mrs. P.G. Evans."
