Description

Ethel Christian (c1890-1982), was the wife of Frederick Christian, and the mother of 8 children. She assisted her husband in his role as Librarian of Palmerston North Public Library and, when he retired due to ill health, was Librarian 1933-1938. She later became Mrs Guiness. The unidentified children are probably two of her children, and part of a larger family portrait. (Also see 2007N_L26_PEO_1160)
