Mrs Collins (1870-1943 ), nee Enid Astbury, spent her childhood at Newbury and was the first pupil teacher at Terrace End School under Mr Guthrie. For thirteen years she was President of Willard Home, the Orphanage, and was the first woman Justice of the Peace in Palmerston North. She received the Jubilee Medal from King George V. She married her husband John George Collins in 1892.
