This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 17 July, 1959. "One bottle-filling machine costing six thousand, three hundred pounds, now replaces two earlier machines used by the Palmerston North milk treatment station for bottling and capping the milk delivered daily to householders in the city and far beyond. The new machine, which works on the vacuum principle is designed to ensure that no cracked or damaged bottles find their way on to the early-morning delivery vans." Another photo associated with this article was unpublished on the same day.
