Manawatū Competitions Society certificates received by Jean Hardie in 1943

Jean Hardie participated in the annual festivals of the Manawatū Competitions Society between c.1940 and 1946 and frequently won awards. During the Twentieth Annual Festival, which took place at the Opera House and Municipal Hall between 10 and 15 May 1944, she was awarded four certificates.
These comprised: First Prize, Character Dance (National), 13 and under 16, performing "Polish"; First Prize, Skipping Dance, 10 and under 14; Second Prize, Greek or Central European Dance, 13 and under 16, performing "Zephyr"; Highly Commended, Dance Duo, 12 years and over, Jean Hardie and Robin James, performing "Apparitions".
