Manawatū Competitions Society, Official Programme, Sixth Annual Festival

This is the programme for the Sixth Annual Festival of the Manawatū Competitions Society, which was held in the Opera House and Municipal Hall between 6 May and 14 May 1927. The competition categories included elocution (speech and drama), dance and music (both vocal and instrumental). Most entrants were children or young people. In addition to listing the events and names of competitors, the programme features many advertisements for local businesses. This copy belonged to W. Newlands, secretary and treasurer of the society, and includes additional pages and handwritten notes.
