This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 4th February 1963. "The Bank of New Zealand branch office on the corner of Fitzherbert Avenue and the Square was wide open on Saturday but no financial deals were being made. Workmen were busy on a rebuilding programme for the bank and other premises in the block."
