This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 5 February, 1959. "Making sure that their shooting is legal are these two Marist Brothers from the Marist Mission at Highden who visited the arms office at the Palmerston North Police Station this morning to register the .22 bolt action repeater rifle seen in the front of them. Brother, Kevin and Brother Joachim watch as the arms officer (Constable J. Balloch) makes out the necessary registration forms."
