This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 15th February 1963. "Mr and Mrs D. Manchester, of Indiana, United States, took the opportunity, while in New Zealand, of visiting Mrs Manchester's parents in Palmerston North (Mr and Mrs P. Smith). Mrs Manchester met her husband while he was a serving Marine in New Zealand during the war. In 1947 she went to Indiana where they were married. The main purpose of their trip was to attend the memorial opening of the Memorial Gates at McKay's crossing. From left: Mr and Mrs D. Manchester and Mr and Mrs P. Smith."
