Under a Housing Corporation Scheme called CHIPS (Community Housing Improvement Programme) this house was among about 32 houses in Campbell Street, between the Grey Street extension and Featherston Street, that qualified for Government assistance to help with their rehabilitation. Number 58 was repiled and two extra bedrooms and a garage planned.
